Tasks and Responsibilities:

Information and documentation centers hold a significant position in universities due to the important role they play in collecting, classifying, updating, analyzing data, and preparing reports that assist in making appropriate decisions. The importance of information in the current era is undeniable, as it plays a crucial role in all aspects of activity; it is considered a fundamental pillar of scientific research. Research, in its various types and methodologies, requires the necessary data and information to accomplish new tasks. Information provides the suitable background for making good decisions across all sectors and at various levels of responsibility, and it is an indispensable element in the daily life of any individual. It is an extremely important resource relied upon for investing in any other resource, as a person's ability to invest in human and material resources is contingent upon their ability to leverage information. It specializes in the following:

1. Participation in proposing plans that meet the community's needs from various specialties according to its directions.
2. Preserving and documenting statistics and information in an organized manner ensures easy access when needed.
3. Collecting information and data related to all university activities and affairs and preparing the necessary statistics about them.
4. Preparation of brochures and publications related to university activities and their guides.
5. Providing the relevant authorities, the university, and others with the necessary data and various statistics regarding students, faculty members, capacity, projects, equipment, or others.

The organizational structure of the information and documentation centers at Libyan universities was approved by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research's decision No. (277) for the year 2021. Several departments were included under the center, which are
