The President of Nalut University participates in the extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities and attends the draw for the quarter-finals of the university championship.
Dr. Mohamed Masoud Qnan, the President of Nalut University, participated on Monday (August 31, 2026) in the extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Council of Libyan Universities, which was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Engineer Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, and attended by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohamed Al-Dbeib, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Saleh Al-Ghul, and university presidents from various parts of the country.
During the meeting, strategic files for the development of the higher education sector were discussed, including:
- • Accelerating digital transformation and updating the educational environment in universities.
- • Linking educational outcomes to labor market needs.
- • Completion of stalled infrastructure projects at academic institutions.
- • Development of graduate studies, special education, and international cooperation.
- • Strengthening the role of research and universities in supporting national decision-making.

At the end of the meeting, the university president participated in the ceremony where the Supreme Council of Universities awarded the "Excellence Shield" to the Prime Minister in appreciation of his continuous support for the higher education sector.
On the sidelines of these meetings, the President of the University attended the draw ceremony for the quarter-finals of the Libyan Universities Football Championship (the sixth edition), which was held at the Ministry's headquarters in the presence of the esteemed minister and officials responsible for university activities, wishing good luck to all the teams participating in this sports and academic event.
