Muscat, Sultanate of Oman – 12/11/2025

The President of Nalut University, Professor Dr. Mohamed Masoud Qnan, will participate in the activities of the third ALECSO forum for the twinning of Arab universities, which will be held under the slogan "The Productive University" at Sohar University in the Sultanate of Oman, on November 12 and 13, 2025.

This forum is organized by the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO), in collaboration with the Omani Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and the Omani National Committee. It witnessed wide participation from university presidents, decision-makers, and Arab researchers.

The participation of the President of Nalut University embodies the university's commitment to enhancing its involvement in joint Arab efforts to develop higher education and to build effective academic and research partnerships. The forum focused on the concept of the "productive university," which is a model aimed at:

Education development: by linking academic programs to the real needs of the labor market and future skills.

Supporting innovation: by enhancing scientific research and transforming its outputs into marketable projects and products.

Sustainability achievement: by transitioning from complete reliance on traditional financing to creating self-financing sources through productive projects and industrial partnerships.

During the sessions of the forum that addressed the themes of "partnership between the university and industry" and "investing in the outputs of scientific research," Dr. Mohamed Masoud Qnan emphasized the necessity for Libyan universities to adopt modern trends in management and education, pointing out:

"The necessity of activating the role of universities in serving local communities and the national economy, by building strong communication bridges with the industrial and private sectors to design innovative programs that support digital transformation and innovation, ensuring that our educational outputs are effective drivers of development."

It also highlighted the ambitious experience of Nalut University in developing its inter-partnerships and activating research and consulting centers to serve as a nucleus for future productive projects that will benefit the western region of Libya.
